My name is Manohar Srikanth. I go by 'mano' if-and-only-if you cannot pronouce my name correctly. I know a bit about a thing or two and if you are here, I assume you care to know more about me.

I am Engineer...

I am an electrical engineer at the core. Computer science and robotics were added degrees later on. In the early life (pre-internet times) I played with circuits and basic components building radio and audio systems.

I'm a Scientist

I graduated with a PhD from MIT in 2013, majoring in Control Systems and Aerial Robotics (Aerial Vehicles such as Quadrotors). I developed Aerial Robots that could manipulate objects while howering in space. After PhD, I continued at MIT as a Post-doctoral scholar in Computer Graphics Lab of CSAIL (Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab), where I worked on Computational Photography with Fredo Durand. I developved methods for automatic lighting using aerial robots.

I am an Imaging Researcher...

After my Post-doctoral work at MIT, I joined Nokia's Imaging Group in 2014. I contribute towards research in Computational Photography and also towards design of Camera Systems.

I'm a Photographer...

A semi-professional photographer with several art exhibits, commissioned work, and published works (albeit in a lowkey local outlets). Research in Photography is my full time work. Being an Imaging Scientist, I try to blend technology and art into my photograpy. One of my goals is to develop technologies that can improve or radically change lighting in photography.

I am an Advisor...

Over the last 14 years, I have advised over 30 undergrads/grad students as part of their internships. I am looking for interns and collaborators in computational photography, imaging, computer vision and optics areas, and if my works appeals to you, do not hesitate to contact me.

At MIT, between 2010-2013, I conducted workshops on Digital Photography for over 6 semesters with maxed-out class capacity. I am thinking of conducting similar workshop in the Bay area soon.

I live in...

Mountain View, California. The only great place with ocean, mountains, green hills, mdeows, snow, hot and cold weather.

I'm from...

India. South India. I grew up in small town named Shimoga, a place close to Bangalore. I moved to the U.S. 7 years ago, of which I spent 6 years in Cambridge/Boston MA, and  the remaining in California.
